Black and white view of the Cologne Cathedral (Dom) standing amidst the ruins of the city after the bombings. The printed text at the bottom of the front reads: 'Köln, Dom und zerstörte Innenstadt'. On the reverse, a handwritten letter in French is addressed to 'M. et Mme Meret' in Paris, with a 20 pfennig stamp and a postmark from Cologne dated 5 September 1948.
