Description

Detail of a French tapestry from the early 16th century, depicting a stylized oak tree with deep shadows and shades of green and yellow. The reverse indicates that it is a fragment of the 4th tapestry in the series « La Dame à la Licorne », displayed at the Musée de Cluny in Paris, with a description of the audacious stylization technique used by the tapestry makers of the time.
