Description

Wall painting depicting the scene of the Tower of Babel, dated to the end of the 11th century, in the church of Saint-Savin-sur-Gartempe. The reverse indicates the publisher 'ÉDITIONS NOMIS, N. 194' and a handwritten address to Mrs. H. Tessier in Mandelieu. A 20-centime French postage stamp dated 1962, postmarked 'DEUX-SEVRES'.
