Sepia-toned view of a cloister seen through a mullioned window, with buildings and shrubs in the background. On the reverse, a handwritten letter dated 30.7.1917, addressed to Mme de la Chaussée in Aix-les-Bains, with a 30-centime French postage stamp and cancellation. The publisher is listed as M.
