Life Guards detachment in winter uniform, with their scarlet coats, mounted on horseback in front of a classical-style building. On the reverse, a handwritten letter from Laurent to his grandfather, dated April 14, 1973, sent from Portland Place to Saint-Denis, with three stamps of Queen Elizabeth II and a London postmark. Printed text at the bottom of the front indicates that the detachment takes place every Sunday at 11 a.m. at Horse Guards.
