View of a ruined house in Saint-Dié (Vosges), where the word 'America' was first printed in 1507, according to the reverse. The printed text on the reverse states that this house was deliberately burned by the German army in November 1944. The publisher is the Imprimerie Ad. Weick, Hodapp & Cie, and the postcard features handwritten text addressed to Madame and Monsieur Schenkerenner in Marseille.
