Representation of Saint Marguerite in period costume, holding a book and a scepter, on canvas measuring 64 x 41½ inches. Reverse: handwritten inscription dated November 13, 1885 in Paris, noting the work as being by Zurbarán, with a note on its acquisition by the National Gallery. Printed in the United Kingdom for the Trustees.
