Black and white view of the Roman Arenas of Nîmes, showing their imposing architecture with arches and stone columns. On the reverse, a handwritten letter dated July 20, 1939, addressed to Mr. Chevallier in Le Mans, with a 70-centime French postage stamp and a cancellation mark 'DES GORGE'.
