Locomotive No. 1000 of the Midland Railway is photographed in daylight on a railway track, with a building and trees in the background. The reverse indicates that it was designed by S.W. Johnson in 1901, rebuilt in 1914 with a compounding system, and restored to this condition, and that it is preserved at the British Transport Museum in London. The publisher is J. Arthur Dixon Ltd., Newport, I.W., England.
