Description

Colored view of Piccadilly Circus in London, with the statue of Eros in the center, surrounded by advertising buildings (Guinness, Schweppes, Jeff Chapman) and vintage cars. On the reverse, a handwritten letter dated September 9, 1971, addressed to 'My dear Yvonne', and an English legend stating that the statue of Eros, designed by Sir Alfred Gilbert, was erected in memory of the Earl of Shaftesbury. The publisher is J. Arthur Dixon Ltd, and the stamp is a British postage stamp with cancellation.
