Two high-ranking American officials, Postmaster General Arthur E. Summerfield and Deputy Postmaster General E. O. Sessions, inspect a model of a new self-service post office designed to sell stamps, exchange currency, and weigh packages. The postcard, published by Pitney-Bowes, Inc., is from the 'Parade of Postal Progress' campaign and bears a 3-cent postmark canceled in Detroit, Michigan, on October 13, 1959.
