Description

Panoramic view of the village of Silves in the Algarve, Portugal, showing white houses with red roofs, a church, and a fortress in the background. On the reverse, a handwritten letter dated March 3, 1996, sent from Silves to Madame L. Surel in Suresnes, mentioning holidays in Portugal and excursions to Silves. Two Portuguese stamps are affixed: one of 3$ (P. Lopes Sousa) and one of 75$ (navigator of the 18th century).
