Color view of the sand dunes of the Palm Springs and Coachella Valleys, described as a « Sahara desert » for Hollywood productions. The reverse shows a handwritten letter dated 24 December 1955, sent from San Francisco to Mrs. Bernadette Joly in Paris, mentioning an earthquake felt upon arrival. Two US 2-cent stamps (John Adams) are affixed, with a San Francisco postmark.
