Description

View of an octagonal wooden building with blue-tiled roof, typical of ancient Japanese architecture. The reverse indicates that this building, the Horyuji Temple, is one of the oldest in Japan, built in 739 by Emperor Shōmu to honor Prince Shōtoku. It is located in Nara and is one of the most important buildings of the Horyuji Temple.
