Lively view of the boat basin and Pier Hill quay in Southend-on-Sea, with boats, swimmers, and coastal buildings. On the reverse, an Excel Series postcard dated February 5, 1934, sent from Southend-on-Sea to B. Martin in Choisy-le-Roi, France, with a 2½ pence stamp and a handwritten inscription: 'How do you do from the sea-side'.
