View of the medieval castle of Thouars, viewed from the banks of the Arroux, framed by a stone bridge. The reverse features a handwritten letter addressed to 'Chapman' in Colombes, with a 15-centime French Republic stamp postmarked in Thouars on September 23, 1957, and mentions the publisher 'La Cigogne'.
