Description

View of the Gothic façade of the Saint-Gatien Cathedral in Tours, with its two towers and ornate portal. On the reverse, printed text indicating its construction began around 1170 and completed around 1507. Postmark of 1 franc from the 1945 series, canceled in Tours on August 8, 1945, addressed to Mr. and Mrs. Compère and their son in Nièvres.
