Two people sitting at the base of a wooden cross atop a stone pedestal, in a snowy mountain landscape with skis planted in the snow. On the reverse, a blue 8 franc stamp, a postmark from Nice dated April 20, 1949, and a handwritten address to Monsieur P. Gausson in Montpellier. Printed text states '4743 VALBERG (1.669 m.). The Cross of Sapet (1.829 m.)'.
