Panoramic view of the Grand Canal in Venice at dusk, with the basilica of Santa Maria della Salute in the background and a sailboat on the water. The back has a handwritten French inscription: « It was time for me to arrive, it was going to disappear... », an address to Madame Croisy at Hameau Salley, 50, Sotkville, France, and an Italian 40 lire stamp postmarked VENEZIA on July 26, 1972.
