Earthenware jar with alkaline glaze, painted in blue and black, from Syria, 14th century. Printed text on the reverse indicates the dimensions (15 in / 38.5 cm) and the publisher W. S. Cowell. The card is printed for the Victoria and Albert Museum, with copyright 1883–1864.
