Black and white view of the Justice Palace in Argentan, former castle of the Lords of Argentan, dated to the 14th century, with trees and a stone wall covered in ivy. Reverse: printed text describing the building, handwritten address to M. and Madame Trancheteau in La Chapelle-Saint-André (Loire-Inférieure), 8-franc postage stamp canceled in Argentan on 17.04.1953, and mention of the publishers 'ARTAUD père et fils, Éditeurs, avenue de la Close, Nantes'.
