Black and white view of a canal running through a village with old stone-walled and tiled houses, and a small wooden bridge in the center. On the reverse, a handwritten letter addressed to 'Dear uncle, aunt and cousin' from Puteaux, dated May 28, 1936, with a 12-centime stamp and a Puteaux cancellation. The publisher 'Chéojac' is visible at the bottom right of the front.
