View of the Montmédy Citadel from the 16th century, with a stone fountain in the foreground and old buildings in the background. The reverse features a handwritten address to Madame Mourgue Fosione in Montmédy, a note stating 'Solution to the puzzle of number 44', and a 10 franc French Republic stamp canceled in Montmédy on 17-5-85.
