Description

Postcard showing the main entrance of the fortified castle of Dourdan, with an inscription detailing its history: built in 1220, prison of Jeanne de Bourgogne, starting point of the War of Auvergne in 1587, and sold by the State in the middle of the 19th century. Reverse: handwritten address to Madame Canel in Cergy, 10-centime green stamps, postmark of Dourdan post office from September 22, 1917, and sender's handwriting.
