Description

Postcard illustrating three postal scales used to weigh packages in order to calculate postage rates. The scale in the foreground, a platform scale, operates with a pendulum and was put into service in Alberta in 1925. The reverse mentions that these instruments are preserved at the Canadian Museum of Civilization. The illustration shows a platform scale of the brand 'Darton'.
