Description

Postcard depicting the S.S. Canadian, the first steamship of the Allan Line for Canadian service, launched July 13, 1854, and wrecked on the Saint Lawrence June 1, 1857. Bilingual text in English and French. Reverse: handwritten address to the Finance Department in Montreal, Canada 40 stamp, and a Montreal postmark dated summer 1931.
