Description

Commemorative postcard of the S.S. Canadian, the first Canadian steamship, launched in 1854 and put into service by the Royal Mail Steamer in 1856. Bilingual text (English/French) on the reverse details its first voyage and its wreck in 1857. Handwritten address to Anne Ashley in Ottawa, dated November 9, 1989.
