Description

Postcard illustrating the S.S. Canadian, the first steamship of the Royal Mail Line, launched in July 1854 and having made its first voyage in May 1856 before sinking in June 1857. The reverse mentions the publisher 'Postal Code' and contains a handwritten correspondence addressed to Ancaster Glass Inc. in Ontario, with a Canada 38 stamp cancelled in Hamilton on January 6, 1989.
