Illustrated postcard depicting the S.S. Canadian, the first iron-hulled ship of the Royal Mail Steamers, launched in July 1854 and making its first Canadian voyage in May 1856 before breaking up on the Saint Lawrence in June 1857. Bilingual text (English/French) printed at the bottom. Reverse: handwritten address to Toronto and Canada 38 stamp cancelled in Toronto, Ontario, dated 27 May 1969.
