Description

Illustrated postcard depicting the S.S. Canadian, the first steamship of the Allan Line company for Canadian service, launched in July 1854 and sunk on the Saint Lawrence in June 1857. Bilingual text (English/French) printed at the bottom. Reverse: handwritten sender's address to Montreal and Canada 1 stamp with cancellation.
