Description

Postcard illustrating the S.S. Canadian, the first steamship of the Royal Mail Steamers, launched in July 1854 and put into service in May 1856. The reverse mentions its wreck in June 1857. The publisher is the Allan Line, with a correspondence addressed to the Canadian Scholarship Trust Foundation in Toronto. Canada 38 stamp used, Wabush, Labrador cancellation.
