Postcard showing the Monument du Matin at the Clairière de l'Armistice in Compiègne, with a sculpture of a bird with outstretched wings at the base of a pillar. The engraved text on the monument honors the 'Heroic Soldiers of France' and the 'Defenders of the Fatherland and the Right' for Lorraine and Alsace. The reverse indicates the Armistice edition, the publisher Ed. Brandt, and a postmark from the City of Compiègne dated 11 November 1918.
