Description

View of the entrance to the Cave of the Brigands in the Fontainebleau Forest, with an underground passage between rocks and a wooden bridge. Printed text recalls that under Louis XV, this cave housed a band of brigands who frightened travelers. Back: blue 25-centime stamp, cancellation stamp reading 'Cave of the Brigands' and 'Châtelet Marne' from June 3, 1920, with handwritten address to 'Mme Dujoux, S. Germain l'Auxerrois'.
