Description

Black and white view of the Creuse river at Gargilesse, above the Pont Noir, with rocky and wooded banks. Printed text quoting G. Sand: « Do you want to know the use of my four days of travel? It's not long: I have done twelve leagues; I have listened to a bird sing. I have seen the Creuse flow. » Reverse: handwritten text dated 4 October 1922 in Nice, addressed to « dear Maimée », mentioning the start of a journey, a visit to a hotel, and dinner with Mrs. Poletti.
