View of the Place d'Armes in Hesdin, with commercial-fronted buildings, one of which displays 'GRAINES, POTAGERES & FOURRAGERES'. On the reverse, a handwritten letter dated 11 March 1918, addressed to a sister, mentioning a departure from Hesdin and an arrival at 'a point on the Somme line'.
