Description

Humorous postcard illustrating a group of caricatured swimmers with names on their bodies, where a policeman gives them instructions. Printed text at the bottom: 'AVISSE !!! Mossieu le Mâre makes known that from this day, it is forbidden for individuals and individuals, amplificatoires, bousinatoires, ventri-patoires, to take a dip all together simultaneously, in order to avoid a fatal tidal wave. He advises ladies to keep their floats out of the water, it looks better in the picture...'. Reverse: red 5-centime stamp, postmark 'LA BAULE', handwritten address to the Prefecture of the Dordogne in Périgueux, and mention 'J. Nezzi, Publisher (Tenne Bourchaud)' at the bottom.
