Indian postcard dated July 15, 1947, franked with a green 9 pence stamp depicting King George VI, with a postmark from Calcutta. The reverse features a handwritten address to a pharmacist in Surajgarh, in the state of Jajpur, and mentions 'HALF ANNA' in violet. The text on the front is written in Devanagari script, with a visible damp stain at the bottom left.
