View of the Castle of Chalencon, whose large round tower is firmly attached to the rock, overlooking the Wild Gorges of the Ancé (altitude 748 m) since the 11th century. On the reverse, handwritten correspondence addressed to Miss Germaine Grégovie in Saint-Maurice-d'Argonne, with a 5 centime postage stamp and a postmark from Saint-Maurice-d'Argonne dated June 20, 1916.
