Description

Letter dated 1844, sent from New York to Philadelphia, with a green 3-cent stamp (type 1861) and a New York postmark dated August 5 at 6 PM. Handwritten address to C. Tower, Esq., 228 South 7th Street, Philadelphia, Penn. The back shows a Philadelphia receipt stamp dated April 10, 1861.
