Description

Chain-stitch sewing machine by Thomas Saint, built in 1878 according to his 1790 patent, displayed at the Paris World's Fair. The front shows the machine with an engraved plate indicating the publisher and year. The back specifies that it is a reproduction from 1874 and mentions the Science Museum of Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
