View of the Prefecture of Melun, an imposing building with slate roofs and classical façade. Printed text at the bottom: 'Prefecture'. Reverse: handwritten address to Madame Collet, 217 rue de Paris, Paris X, with a 10-centime postal stamp and Melun postmark dated October 1st, 1917. Handwritten correspondence at the top: 'I am joining the invitation to see you on one of these aquatic days, all three of us, the happy birth of the other's child. Your health, which I await for lunch. Best wishes to all from your almost little friend.'
