On the reverse, a handwritten letter dated July 12, 1917, sent to Madame Berthe Mériaux in Paris, signed by Éloi Mériaux, a driver in the 2nd Artillery Regiment, on leave in Montpellier. Postmark and postal stamp from Montpellier visible.
