Description

Postcard depicting a gilded silver hanap from the 17th century, presented in 1663 by Duke Charles IV to Notre-Dame de Sion in Lorraine. The reverse indicates the publisher 'M.L.' and states that the object is preserved in the Musée Historique Lorrain in Nancy. The hanap is adorned with a celestial sphere topped with an astrolabe and rests on a sculpted foot of a man holding a horn.
