View of the Triumphal Arch of Orange, a Roman monument dating from around 27 BCE, said to have been erected by Augustus to celebrate his victory over the Arverni. The bas-reliefs on the North face and the side are partially preserved, while the South face is completely destroyed. The monument is located in the middle of a plaza, and a fortress known as the Château de l'Arc existed nearby during the Middle Ages.
