View of the Gare du Nord in Paris, with its imposing pediment adorned with statues and central clock, dated around 1917. On the reverse, a handwritten letter dated 3 July 1917 addressed to a cousin, mentioning a return from Germany and waiting for correspondence. The reverse bears the inscription 'POSTCARD' and a stamp reading 'Correspondence on the front is not accepted by all foreign countries'.
