Description

View of the Pantheon in Paris, built by Soufflot, completed in 1764, dedicated to Sainte-Geneviève, and later converted for worship in 1806. The interior features frescoes of Sainte-Geneviève and Joan of Arc by David d'Angers, Puvis de Chavannes, and Sicard. In the background, the tombs of great men such as Hugo, Sadi-Carnot, Gambetta, Murat, Rousseau, and Voltaire. Reverse: French postage stamp of 15 centimes, Paris postmark, handwritten address to Madame and Monsieur Beronan in Châtellerault, and the publisher's signature L. Besson.
