Description

View of the Rue Royale in Paris, with the Madeleine in the background, illustrating the history of the site: begun in 1764 under Louis XV, transformed into a Roman temple in 1806 and representing the Last Judgment. The reverse has a handwritten inscription 'Souvenirs' and an address to 'la 4e C.M.' in Paris, with a postmark from Saint-Lazare Station on 21 November 1916.
