Description

View of the Madeleine church in Paris, with period cars on the square. The printed text indicates its origin in 1764 under Louis XV, its transformation into a Roman temple in 1806, and its return to worship in 1842. The pediment depicts the Last Judgment. Reverse: handwritten message addressed to M. Granet in Paris, with a 40-centime postage stamp and a Parisian postmark dated March 4.
