Description

View of the main entrance of the Invalides in Paris, with an inscription in French and English describing its history: founded by Louis XIV to receive injured soldiers, started in 1671, completed in 1674, containing the military museum and the tomb of Napoleon I. The reverse side features a handwritten correspondence addressed to Mrs. W.S. Schille in Sézigny, with two red 10-centime stamps and a postmark from BASTRA dated 21.08.
