View of the Porte Saint-Denis in Paris, built in 1672 by François Blondel in honor of Louis XIV, depicted crossing the Rhine. On the reverse, a handwritten letter dated April 24, 1929, addressed to 'Dear Papa', signed 'D. Boisson', with the sender's address at the corner of Rue du Temple.
